'Least Said Soonest Mended'
'Least Said Soonest Mended'
Acrylic and mixed media on canvas.
This is a many layered piece combining paint and collage with elements of text. I wanted to evoke a sense of history, a layering of landscape and the past with its infinite stories. I see the different horizontal sections as a kind of cross section of the land, archaeological strata hiding its secrets which all converge in who we are today, represented by the buildings at the very top. I often use text to suggest language and stories, and I love the visual impact of letters as pattern.
156cm x 156cm x 4cm.
